Played three years at Western Michigan. Put up pretty decent numbers over that time. A player with that kind of size can't help being physical. If's he's proactively physical that will be even better. The real question is how well he moves on skates. If he's good on that--that's a bottom 6 forward anyway. You work on his all around game--get him on your penalty kill. Reach is a good thing for a penalty killer. That kind of size should be a playoff asset as well. Forward depth was an issue for us this year. Him and Gettinger some day on the same line.

Looking at the kid's stats, we shouldn't be expecting major offensive production, regardless of the highlights.

Nice to have a 4th line prospect who has some skill, however.

I mean, NCAA offensive stats are not a good predictor of NHL production.

But yes, I would imagine they see him as having primarily bottom 6 potential.

Size can sometimes be an indicator of a late bloomer. It can also be indicative of a player who produced at a lower level just based on physical assets. We will see which is which pretty soon based on whether he makes the Pack starting lineup next season.
