His grandfather is U.S. Hockey Hall of Fame member Lou Nanne, who played 10 seasons with the Minnesota North Stars and served as the team’s general manager for another 13 seasons. He was presented the Lester Patrick Award in 1980 for his outstanding service to hockey in the United States. His brother, Louie, was drafted 188th overall by the Minnesota Wild in 2012 and spent the 2013-14 season with the Sioux Falls Stampede of the United States Hockey League.

The grandfather Lou grew up in Canada with the Esposito brothers--went to Minnesota U. and became an American citizen. He played in the Olympics and in the NHL. He was an NHL coach and an NHL General Manager. He is in the US Hall of Fame. He had a son--Marty? who was drafted back in the 80's and I believe played for Minnesota U. as well but not sure that he even turned pro. If I remember he wasn't that good. Tyler might be his son.

For a guy billed as a flashy offensive D, his numbers kind of suck. But the skill is there. Maybe he'll get better as he grows.

re Tyler Nanne, a lot of reporters/posters, including Cerny, wrote that we will attend Ohio Sate this fall.
That seem to not be true.
He is commited to OSU, but all indications are he'll begin there in '15

If you listen the 10 minute tape of post-draft Sather comments, at just past 7 mins, he says Nanne to Iowa in fall. I assume that means a USHL team

multiple sites say OSU commit is '15-16

fyi while looking into this, found out that this guy Vinni Lettieri, invited to NYR DEv Camp is also a Lou Nanne grandson:
