Terms are 2 years / 2.45m per
The Rangers now have one of the best tandems in the league, at a cost of $3.35M.
So he got more than Fast in terms of AAV?
I like it, very tradeable at either deadline.
I hope we can avoid arbitration as much as possible. It is an adversarial process and often leaves players bitter. Glad to see him signed. 3 more to go!
Top backup goalie >>> 3rd line winger.
one has NOTHING to do with the other...we would have signed Fast for 2 years too. they did NOT let fast go over cap hit.
I wonder how their overall TOI compares. At least for last season.
Not for long haha
These days you really need two good goalies. This will be a big year for Alex. I expect he'll get 30-35 games with a full schedule. He will need to win more than he loses. He's done that the past two seasons but the better your backup goalie does the less pressure on your starter. The idea is to get to the playoffs without burning Igor out--then he can pretty much go from there.
That’s a great deal. Wonder if the dominoes start to fall in place now?
The G position is secure.
no reason to this until until Huska is ready for the backup role.
Good deal.. Glad Georgie is still on board
That is more than I was expecting
Huska won't be but let's not sleep on Tyler Wall. Guys very good.
So, we’re effectively paying 7.925M for Lundqvist and Georgiev this season. Yikes.
Too rich for my blood. I figured 2M tops.
Yeah but as Crease pointed out.
The goalie situation is locked up for at least 2 years at $3.35M
When has that ever happened?
One year. Shesterkin’s ELC ends after the coming season.
Shesty has up to $2.85M in bonuses on top of that and then there is the issue of Hank's buyout.
$8.85M-$11.7M in 20-21 and then Shesty is an RFA.
I thought it was going to be for like $1.8-2.0, but what the hell do I know.
Oh.. My mistake
Did we offer him more money to try and make other teams believe that we think he is that good and worth an expensive deal to try and improve his trade value?
You still need two good goalies so it had to be done.
Is signing him for that little amount hurts you, you have much bigger problems..
I don't think Huska is NHL material. Wall or maybe Lindbom if he can stay healthy.
....and now we also have Garand and Ollas.
