I don't think that's a given. Wall is still going to have to come in and show he's the guy to back up Kinkaid. The Rangers aren't just going to hand it to him. I also wouldn't rule out Hartford going with three goalies for a month until they get a good read on things. Especially with a chance for a compressed schedule.

Also, the rest of the guys to be added are either a) likely career minor-leaguers, b) will lose prospect status soon by aging out, c) will likely be out of our organization soon, or d) won't even ever receive a contract. It's not like we're adding Huska over some future All Stars.

The guy you voted to add may never even come back.

I’m seeing a lot of votes for Khodorenko here. Not sure he should be ranked over Tarnstrom and I’m not even sure he should be ranked over Richards. Richards has his defensive ability that gives him a nice chance to stick on a fourth line, fulfilling that role. I don’t know what Khodorenko does. Like what is his role? And how likely is he to fulfill that role on the Rangers? Not sure I see it

Why Khodorenko over Getts? Looking at their body of work in their leagues to date, I don't see it. I mean it is #19 or whatever but...

It's more about upside at this point. Khodorenko has played a big role for MSU for 4 years, after showing middle-6 upside in his draft year, which was affected by injuries.

Gettinger is what he is at this point. A fringe NHL-er who can be plugged in on the 4th line.

A year or 2 from now, we may realize Khodorenko doesn't have what it takes to make it to the NHL but as of now, it's up in the air.
