After seeing how Gardiner, Skjei, and Vatanen have played in the postseason, I cannot wait to see Pesce back when September rolls around.

Man, hell of a game, Canes just dominated. Only goal Rags get is from an undeserved 5 on 3. I'm not arguing MOST of what the refs called on us tonight were by letter-of-the-law penalties, but it also means they missed about 50 other infractions...if Fleury was interference so was that mugging of Necas, if JWilly was interference so was knocking Aho off balance trying to go up the ice. **** Trouba's head-hunting tactics on Willy, the league SHOULD look at a hit like that where he had no intention of playing the body or puck but just went elbow first towards him. Sorry, but the obvious bias/game management calls frustrate me even when I expect them [/rant]

The team continues to play like this, we're going to get a decent taste of playoffs again this year...Things are just clicking with them right now and it's beautiful. Mrazzle Dazzle was in the ZONE! Skjei and Gardiner haven't looked like dumpster fires, which is huge while missing Pesce/Doogie. That 4th line is CLICKING...Geekie want remain a Cane! Troch is definitely looking rejuvinated and hungry. SVECH IS A BEAST! Between him and Aho we finally know what it's like to have true stars on the ice that just make things happen (last time we saw that was during prime EStaal years maybe). Nino might still be streaky with scoring, but he's doing a lot of little things right (like saving a goal) and I thought mostly noticeable in good ways. Slavin made a few surprise poor/passes bad plays, but dude still owns more often than not. Also, Fleury is definitely showing signs of growth, he's not quite as hand-grenade with the puck, making good plays, getting a bit more physical...could he be a CDH type player as he gets more games?

And again, SVECH IS A BEAST!

Particularly considering that O'Neill has never even scored 2 goals in one Playoff game. He's never even had 3 points in one Playoff game.
