Very, very interesting. This is actually the most significant development in a LONG time. The whole reason the disciplinary process is a pathetic joke isn't because of Bettman, Campbell, Parros or any individual. I'm almost 50, and the league has been a joke FOREVER about concussions, game management, fairness, protecting its players and neanderthal violence because that's the way the owners -- a highly profitable cartel -- have always wanted it. For the Rangers to put out that very strong public statement, as self-serving as it is, is hugely significant in that it suggests dissension in the owner ranks, and from a massively influential Original Six franchise at that. I am too cynical to think anything tangibly comes of it, but it is undeniably important.

The rangers really jumped this all up a notch there if you ask me. Would have been easy to disagree but move on, the rangers arent in the playoffs.

This game tomorrow isn't going to live up to the hype, is it... The nhl will threaten both teams and limit any type of response, there's no way the nhl will give it a chance to get out of control.

Rangers are going to get fined a lot more than Wilson.

The NHL won't appreciate one of its teams drawing attention to incompetence. Especially after the Tim Peel fiasco damaged the credibility of the league.
It'll just prove the Rangers point even more, what Wilson got as a "punishment" was a f***ing joke. It's equivalent to someone on a 50K salary paying $48.

There needs be a suspension or some kind, or a penalty to the NYR staff. It is not allowed for the coaches to get involved with referee decisions; quite similarly, this sort of public challenge against the decrees of the league must be addressed. What Wilson did was not great, but that does not make a case for the NYR to challenge the due process in this way.

Well then maybe they should have gotten it right the first time. A fine in this instance is pathetic. And this is from a neutral fan.
