Same thing that happened with Nick Lodolo (41st overall in 2016 didn't sign and went to TCU), he wants more than the 5% overslot the Pirates are willing to give (which is the magic number to avoid any penalties).

Lodolo, by the way, is shaping up to be a Top 10-15 pick next year.

Good news, though, the Pirates will get the 37th pick next year as compensation... so, yippie?

I always wonder why some can't connect the dots when it comes to young players and player development. The Pirates go on the cheap with every aspect of the organization. I truly feel bad for players who get drafted by the team, they aren't getting the coaching they need, more likely is that they are getting coaching that is detrimental to their growth.

Nah if people continue to stop going to games, and dickhead is in the red, Nutting will eventually have to sell.

He cant move the team the MLB isnt going to let him, especially with PNC Park being a top park and the Pirates having such a rich history. I mean christ they were around before the Yankees and Redsox.

But I'm sure he will try, until then he will wittle the spending down to bare f***ing bones and trade any and every good player. Hopefully the MLB steps in and does something about it, but I seriously doubt that.

The lease on The stadium (which we are still paying for with the 7 percent tax) ends in 2030. Nutting will move the team on January 2nd 2030 to whoever pays him the most. Eleven and one half years.

No doubt in my mind at all on that point. And MLB will not care a bit about it.

Precisely and it's folks like DJ that keep Nutting in control. I haven't watched a Bucs game in over a month. Have not gone to a game in person since 2016.

Anyone who TRULY loves the Pirates would give 2 middle fingers to Nutting and all the people that kiss his billionaire ass. Which means don't go to games, don't watch games, don't spend a nickel on merchandise, etc.
