You figure if they only win like 67 games they’d have to do something. But if they go on a tear through September and crack 75 wins you know management is going to milk that

Reynolds is such a gem.

And Newman. Also like how well rounded both are. Its why I keep "pounding that table" for Hayes, Tucker to be up so they are ready next season. With their D and solid base running.

Newman getting the single then SB(13 now), resulting in the GW run with Marte hit. When we saw so many games with opposite result(stranding the runner) in the past. Over the years we only had Marte who was a threat to steal.

Now Newman, Tucker(led system with 40 last year), Hayes is smart base runner, Swaggerty(23 this year), Oliva(35 SBs) etc. To go with their other plus tools. We don't have a power hitting line up so its good to have a lineup filled with what these kids will bring.

Good job at drafting early. 2014 Tucker . 2015 Newman, Hayes in first and Kramer 2nd. 2016 Will Craig. 2017 Reynolds 2nd round trade for Cutch(nice scouting picking him to be the return) and Cal Mitchell. 2018 Swaggerty.

Taking Bats early those years paying off and should see more of that next year.

- If you Build the line up the pitchers will come-

Hope the CD trade return is worked around how well he performs there. Giving us the better group to pick from.

Since he is on fire.

Vazquez abusing Phillies

MLB network all over it about Dodgers making a mistake

I think his value increases even more after this season.

Chapman gets Gleyber Torres +. Quintana gets Eloy Jimenez. Imagine those 2 in the Cubs OF for years to come btw. At least that isnt happening.

And this year teams decide to hang onto top prospects. If Gavin Lux didnt rip apart AAA the way we was then they prob would have included him. Im glad Neal didn't budge tho. Let Vazquez' value go up and Dodgers lose again. More teams in on him in offseason or next year(not saying Neal will make calls but hes certainly going to get them) that think they are close and a closer like Vazquez to surround the rest of their lineup/staff will put em over the top.

If Braves lose again...Kimbrel not working out. Maybe its them. And We get Ian Anderson(the 3rd overall pick in 17 with 170Ks in 130IP this year working his way up to AAA) who would fit rigtht in with Keller and either CF Drew Waters/Christian Apache. Their two top CF prospects who they plan on being out there with Acuna but..

1. They have other OFs and 2. You never know with prospects so while this may seem steep its what Vazquez should require. You know youre getting the best closer in baseball in Felipe and automatic win.

Teams aren’t really sending out hauls for closers or anything really anymore. Can’t really compare past trades to now

No real closers have been moved since Chapman and Kimbrel before him. So, at least IMO, it's not comparing the overall closer/reliever trade market, it's comparing the elite closer/reliever deals. The cream of the crop at a position is always going to attract massive hauls. Catchers generally go for cash, PTBNL, and/or low A lottery tickets. Realmuto attracted a Top 25 prospect+. Vazquez isn't just a run of the mill bullpen guy, he's legitimately in the running for best currently in the league.

Sure, the fantasy package of Lux, Smith, ++ is probably out of the question, but paring that down to the main of Lux + others is perfectly within the realm of feasible, especially in the current age where under-market long term deals are coveted.
