Isn't Oakland (and the rest of California for that matter) in economic hell right now?

Good luck convincing the public to pony up 3/4ths of a billion dollars to make it happen.

Yes, the world's 6th largest economy is in economic hell.

The SNTIC (the board that recommends this stuff to the governor) countered at $500MM or so Thursday. Still way too high, but they're going to try to make a go of it.

The Raiders were not happy with the results.

Nope. The city of Oakland just doesn't want to build a stadium.

Tell them to **** off. Let the millionaires and billionaires pay for their own elitist playgrounds.

Cities make tons of money off these stadiums and events. It's not as if they're only used for football. Also, quite a few are owned by cities themselves and they're leased to teams.

Yeah cities can make $$$ off of them. Look at Chicago in which Soldier Field is used thru year for variety of events

Just don't follow Chicago example of ruining things with nonsense like high school football on field which turns an already awful field into complete slop

it's true why should the people have to pay for something that's used at least 8 times per year

The cost don't justify the prices on the people

Sure Bill. Most cities like new stadiums. They can hold many events there besides 8 NFL games. No one in Oakland wants to help Mark Davis. No one likes Mark Davis.
