I don't get why people try to package players like this together in hopes of some synergistics effect of value.

Both players are worth shit. shit plus/multiplied by shit is still shit.

Given Gudas' rep his value is probably negative. Grouping Gudas and Neurvith probably gets you a 5th round pick.

His rep aside with the exception of last season he’s been more than serviceable as our 2nd pairing RD. Ideally he’s on the third pairing but to say he has no value shows any lack of insight into him other than his supposed reputation.

Neuvirth is a good goaltender... sadly he is hurt more than he isn’t. His play (great playoff goalie) probably merits a late 2nd early 3rd if healthy... but probably looking at a B level prospect for him now... if that. The risk is his health so value falls for that. Teams willing to take a chance on him that need backup goaltending would do that.

Gudas was just plain awful last year, but the year prior was a very very good Dman. It’s sad that every hit, mostly legal, are still called penalties just for who he is. Since that’s the case... he could probably get a 4th rd pick of a low B level prospect.

Combined is a decent amount of cap for not much. You’re probably looking at

Neuvirth + Gudas ..... 3rd or B prospect

His rep? GMs really don't care what people on the internet say about Gudas. 4 different teams employed Todd Bertuzzi after he almost killed a guy. Gudas had a bad year but he's otherwise been a solid 4th or 5th defenseman and he just turned 28.
