Kind of a joke how Smith is being downplayed here.

He’s gotten better and better and has the points. Already up to the second pairing.

Our centers, our coach and our insanely idiotic power play is going cost Kaprizov the trophy. His talent is incredible but there's only so much he can fight upstream against.

I see your bet and I’ll raise you Hoglander is on a powerplay with Brandon Sutter

Lankinen looks good, but I want to see the numbers when he plays against Dallas, TB and Carolina...not Detroit, Nashville and Columbus.

As far as I remember, Kaprizov hasn't scored a single PP point so far. Or am I wrong?

That would be correct. The Wild PP has gotten off to a dismal start...something like 2-38. And both of those goals were scored by the second PP unit.

Its not like the first unit isn't getting any decent looks or chances, they are, but have either just missed or bad puck luck. Kaprizov has hit the pipes more than once. I expect that his and the team's PP numbers will start rising towards the mean at some point here.

PO Joseph should be mentioned in this thread.
Currently our #1 dman with all the injuries. Playing lights out.

Once Vatanen gets into the line-up, Smith is almost certainly going to be playing with Severson in extremely favorable matchups at 5-on-5 behind Murray - Subban and Kulikov - Vatanen

With how production based the Calder is, he will likely have a serious shot at winning the trophy this year.

Vanecek with rookie of the month. Wouldn't count him out if he continues to be solid and rack up wins this season. Probably won't win, but could sneak in as a finalist.

Hehe, here's Kaprizov's line for tonight's game:

Kaprizov-Rask-Mayhew

The guy who has 25 points in his last 4 NHL seasons combined and the guy who has 14 NHL games as 28 year old.

Great way to win Calder.
