To be fair games like this are hard to really look good in, especially when you've not got an overly talented team to begin with.

Poland got 1 goal, Germany got 1 goal and they beat Ukraine 2-0...this was never a walk-over for Wales to begin with.

Ramsey has been killing like every Wales attack outside of one nice pass he had to Vokes. He slows down their breaks way too much and then runs the ball back over his own half half the time.

Now watch him score a 35 yard screamer.

Could see that coming. Wales were starting to come on pretty strong.

Great cross in from Bale. Nothing to be done...if he didn't get the own goal Kanu would have put it in anyway.

Not sure how much you can really blame McAuley. Give credit to Bale and Wales on that play. It was pretty much a perfect ball in behind the defence and it had some real speed on it. Kanu was right behind him and would have most likely got to it if he didn't make a play.

Hardly unlucky.

In real time that collision looked moronic. What was Jonny doing? I missed the replay.

Good on Wales. Jonny Williams (despite his stupid collision with the other Williams) changed the complexion of the Welsh attack...little firecracker. Bale was getting crowded out from shooting opportunities so he made good on a very nice cross from the left side to put Wales ahead.

Northern Ireland certainly put in a good showing at the Euros though...they were no easy task for any team regardless of style and to only concede 1 to each of Poland, Germany and now Wales while beating Ukraine 2-0 is certainly better than anyone expected of them.

Tbh if McAuley didn't make his move, Robson-Kanu would have scored anyway

Defensive organization was bad and he was partially at fault regardless. McAuley should have reacted faster to Ramsey's pass to Bale to move further back so he wouldn't have to lunge at the last second to reach the cross. Right back should have been closer to Bale as his presence in the middle was completely unnecessary.

In a perfect world where everyone makes perfect plays nobody scores? That's way too many moving pieces to discredit the goal from Wales. You can point to defensive breakdown on almost any goal that ever happens.
