Can't complain about the result. Ireland were great in the 1st half. France made the needed adjustments at half. well deserved.

That being said, having an Italian referee an Irish game right after Ireland beat Italy is strange. Even though he did his job, I'm not sure that should happen.

There was a blatant corner for Ireland which the officials somehow did not give, the French 2-1 didn't occur too long after that. I don't think that changed the outcome necessarily but it is actually incredible that it wasn't given a corner.

The official behind the goalline looked right at it and clearly saw it went off the French player's head and did not make this known to the referee. That's the kind of stuff that raises eyebrows.
