They've been fine but they're really not playing a formation that optimizes buildup through the midfield. Germany has had the same problem with the same formation at times this tournament.

This is a ligue 2 pitch.

And although some pitches are in awful condition (Marseille, Lille after the first round), plenty are of high quality (Parc des Princes is considered as one of the best if not the best pitch in Europe and then you have Lyon, etc...).
