What happens to those players who have a existing contract and sign no release contracts over in europe (ex Perezhogin is signed by the habs for 05-06 and apparently recently signed in europe with no release clause)

Probably you could still get him back, but you would have to buy the players' contract from the overseas team? :dunno:

IF there is a season, that contract signed with Russia has to be null and void, since he's already under contract with the Habs.

if he has a no release clause that means that if he starts the season over there then he must finish the season over there regardless of the nhl season starting...if the lockout ends over the summer and he never starts playing there then he can most likely get out of the contract.

montreal could probably buyout his contract too if they wanted.
