It's the first MLB postponement due to air quality concerns since 2020.

Kinda surprised WNBA impacted, but did see headline that cross country flights delayed/canceled because of fires so that might be reason (no charter flights until playoffs).

Read the article..... It mentions that smoke had actually entered the building.

Meanwhile, the WNBA announced the postponement of the New York Liberty vs. Minnesota Lynx game at Barclays Center. Reportedly, smoke had entered the arena, according to insider Howard Megdal.

Not surprised about the Liberty game at all. The skies have been orange all day for two days straight in the New York area from this. And everything smells like a campfire. It's just not healthy to leave the house for extended periods. This is a pic I took from my front lawn earlier today (I'm in New Jersey.)

Yup, it gets crazy in the Pac NW.

That 'campfire' smell stays around for so long and feels like you're just breathing it all in the second you step out the door. And our skies look crazy when it happens.

NY state has suspended horse racing until air clears. Saturdays Belmont Stakes may be postponed.
