German goalie needs to channel his inner 2006-Gerber for the team to have a chance.

Leon Draisaitl plays on 3rd line ? I didn't know that Germany is that deep.

Should be an easy victory for Canada. At best I'd think Germany could get a similar result as last year, where they came back from being down 0-2 and were tied after two periods, before losing 2-5, so a somewhat close game but not really something that was truly in danger of being lost for Canada. At worst it could be similar to the beating that happened two years ago.

That's not what these things stand for. The order of how lines get listed on game-sheets has no bearing whatsoever on what is considered to be the best line, nor does it say anything about who gets the most icetime either.

In this case, those aren't the current lines anyway. Draisaitl played with Ehliz and Reimer in the last game, and both Hager and Tiffels played center, not wing.

I won't see this game because of the time it's played, but I am expecting a 4-1 win for Canada.

I may catch parts of it. or maybe not...

I'm expecting a closer game. 4-2. Canada with the empty net goal in the final minute.

looking forward to the 1/2 final though.

Happy for Germany to get this far (they are hosting after all) but this better had be a slaughter as I am quite looking forward to a weekend semifinal viewing of Canada vs Russia. 5-2 with Canada coasting through all three periods and Germany picking up a 2nd consolation goal late in the third for the fans.

No disrespect intended as this would be much closer than how Canada be able to muster against Germany in soccer!

Should be an easy Canada win but you never know.

I'm predicting 5-2.

Canada has lost only twice to the Germans, 5-3 in 1987 and 5-1 in 1996. Last Canada-Germany QF game required overtime in 2003.

If you think about it, this is kind of like a goalie duel for who gets to be the starting goalie for the Vegas Golden Knights (VGK).

Rumors and predictions have been swirling that two goalies possibly heading over to VGK are: Grubauer and Pickard.
