Alright, I'll get us started with the obvious question: why Caufield so low?

I’m cautious about Caufield. For every DeBrincat there is a long list of one dimensional small scoring wingers who never cut it in the NHL. Cole is arguably the top scorer in the draft but he is major liability in the defensive end both positionally and physically. If he’s not picking off a pass and darting the other way, he doesn’t add much on that end of the ice. While a fantastic shooter, he’s actually very strong in front of the net and picks up a ton of goals there. I don’t see that part of his scoring translating as well at higher levels. The potential is there for him to be a top player in the draft, but it’s a gamble. If this was an upside list and not a ranking, he would be much higher.

Moritz Seider all the way at 7? Granted I don’t know too much about him, didn’t realize he’s climbed up that much.

Karl Henriksson 25th is interesting. Why so high?
I don't like Kokkonen and Legare rankings. way too high.

I never had Seider lower than #17 this year and he’s done everything necessary to raise his stock through his unique development situation compared to other top prospects. He played a key role in leading his team to his league championship, was a top player for Germany at the World Championships, and he has all the attributes that indicate potential for a two-way top pairing defenseman. He’s in the mold of an underdeveloped Seth Jones: size, speed, shot, mobility, physicality, instincts, IQ. The sky is the limit but it will likely be 3 years before he cracks the NHL.

Henriksson is a fun story. His production wasn’t off the charts at the U18s but his level of play was. He was Sweden’s top center after a season where he emerged as a top playmaker in his age group. The thing about Henriksson is his athleticism. He is just transitioning to hockey full time after an impressive junior soccer career. The combination of his remarkable improvement, new singular focus starting last year, and fantastic overall game lead me to believe he’s got more untapped upside than most draftees. He’s worth a first round swing.
