I was reading old articles on him two days ago, from the last several years going back to juniors. My take from it was he was this good offensively probably since he was 17 and they were not happy with his defensive game or lack of a physical game and either he improved a little or they just had to play him anyway since he wasn't going to be that excellent two way defenseman. In other words he probably could have three years in the NHL by now if he had just banged some bodies and been a little better defensively. The ISLES lost a few years of his career to the Ahl assuming he goes the same route everyone else has...Kyle, JT,Nielsen,Dehahn,....

You have an extraordinary ability to take a positive and turn it into a negative. This is your gift I suppose.

I would like to see a real NHL scouting report on him, see if they think he's improved defensively the last three years or not. It's just interesting because for so long snow kept him down in the AHL and wouldn't give specific answers but it sure wasn't for his lack of offense at least on power plays.

Team puts raw rookie in AHL to develop. Fans complain that raw rookie should be in NHL.

Raw rookie plays tons in AHL and develops against lesser competition.

After a few years raw rookie is no longer raw and is ready to play in NHL and does well.

Fans complain and say, "See, I was right, he should have been up in the NHL from the start".

Don't forget he had 2 major injuries since he came here(2014/15 and last season)

Fans complain he should have been up when the alternatives to him were Brian Strait and Marek Zidlicky, especially when he played well enough in camp to beat Strait out of a spot. The same complaints you’re going to hear about Sbisa and Devon Toews when Toews is sent down.

Pulock should have had better coaching period. This is where Trotz will hopefully have a big impact as I was not impressed at all with Pulocks first two games. He is young still but needs to get better to be a top 4 instead of a powerplay specialist.

The way that guy blew past him, is the type of thing snow must of been told about in the Ahl. That was just really bad, it's quite possible he didn't get better defensively compared to 3 4 years ago. People don't automatically get better each year. He's looking like a Tommy kurvers

That was one play. If you can't tell that he's improved his defensive game from 3-4 years ago, I call BS on you being an Isles fan.

Didn’t want to start a new thread and didn’t know which to bump.

Regardless, anyone else impressed by Pulock’s play on this road trip?

Seems like he’s methodically going through this year adding “next levels” to his game.

He’s accepted Trotz “challenge”. He’s playing top pair minutes and is playing well. I wanted to see more offense from him but I think his mindset is defense first like the rest of the team and that’s fine. He’s really blossoming under Trotz. He just turned 24 and is becoming a complete Defensman.

and who do we have to thank for that? Is the Jack Adams a far reach for the man if the Isles get far?

I hope he would be nominated but we’re just not quite enough for as much as some other teams that have had a big turn around like Phil Housley and the sabres.

It’s amazing though how he has come in along with Lou and completely changed the culture of the entire organization in a positive way.

...said no one...ever.
Most on here were hoping he’d be protected or whatever deal was made with GMGM was to protect Pulock.
What everyone said was “I can’t believe we protected Pelech over deHaan”
