I don't blame the people who thought he would be better than Laine. His entire junior and pre-draft career was completely dominant and there was all the reason to believe it was legit.
I assume it was mostly because of his size that he was able to score so well. Now that his size is not the only tool he has, he has met the brickwall. I guess because of his junior path, he wasn't aware of what he really needs to work on. Now in the NHL, the pain points became clear and it's down to him to work on them. Still 12 goals was not too bad for practically a rookie.
