They will still have his rights next year when the QO window opens but he's not allowed to play in the NHL this year if he doesn't have a contract with the Oilers by Dec 1 (or whoever holds his rights by then).
This seemed like the only sensible solution for Pulju.

Shrugs, Ken Holland had a good offseason and Puljujarvi isn't too bright if he doesn't want to play for a winger starved team with elite Centers.

Anyways, Holland is savvy enough to get something decent for Puljujarvi. Whenever... not like the player has done much for the club to be missed.

I think for Jesse this is the best thing. Maybe he gets his confidence back and somehow (sometime) finds a way back to NHL. I doubt it will be with Edmonton

Ideally for both him and the Oilers he lights it up in Europe for a year and actually gains some trade value. If he tanks he's probably just done in the NHL.
I guess this is a fair thing to say. Hes definitely the young player who has the highest ceiling. A player who should be a foundational player for the core of this team.
