Got to wonder why hoxkey skates still have that opening between the road and heel. 4 inches of light weight plastic would take that sort of stuff out of the equation

bad: everything they're doing is really simple
good: they try like 3x harder than they did last year.

oh my God this mortal terror of taking a hit to make a play

shades of AV hockey

B. Smith looks good and also one of our best players so far in offensive zone.

Hopefully Namestikov is a bit more.... i unno... engaged opening night. Pucks find a way to elude him a lot. He's good when he has it.

Why do I get the feeling that there is going to be 1-2 surprises on the opening night roster?
I thought there was a chance Gettinger was one. I could see Fogarty. Or Chytil and/or Andersson being left off. Some things like that. If there are surprises I think they'll be up front. I think the defense is just too obvious.

Fogarty makes it.
Andersson doesn't.
Lettieri makes it.
McLeod doesn't.
Claesson gets waived and picked up.

Our defensive system looks good, but we give up a lot of point shots.

It's by design, we clog the high slot.

It's a big mistake because it'll make like 15 games ~unwinnable due to puck luck/deflections, but maybe that doesn't matter for this year.
