does anybody have any good comparisons for prospects drafted and undrafted. i am looking for some future ray bourque's paul coffey' scott steven',maybe mark messier', mario lemiuex's. more or less whats the closest thing to a superstar we can look forward to.

perhaps if you are just gonna write that there never will be another mario or coffey or bourque then you don't waste your time. cause i know that it will be a fat chance another 92 goal scorer or another 215 point getter will come around. i am just trying to get an idea of what kind of players are on the horizon

Well... to start off, I'd say that there will never be another play to ever put up 200 points because of the way hockey is played now. I'd say that you can take a clone of Mario Lemieux from the 80's and he would have a rough time hitting anything close to that 200 mark.

Anyways... here are the obvious ones... and this is in terms of STYLE.

    Alexander Ovechkin - Mario Lemieux
    - Big, physical at times, amazing hands, speed, size, vision.

    Sidney Crosby - Peter Forsberg
    - Great speed, shot, playmaker, hands of gold, hockey sense, vision.

    Ilja Kovalchuk - Pavel Bure
    - Amazing goal scorer, flashiest player in the league.

I think I like the Ladd = Smyth comparison a little bit, though I don't see enough of Smyth anymore to really say whether or not that's a good comparison to make.

I don't think Gabby is big or deffensively reliable enough to play a Fedorov game. However, you might know more about this than I do since I don't get to watch him play very much.

    Anyways, my comparisons:

    Pitkanen: Borque
    Nash: Reminds me of Bossy
    J-Bo: Coffey

Suggested by Cliff Ronning who has played with both Pavel and Almo. ;)

  16. I think it's true...

I don't know much about Almo but I know Bure has pure speed and pulls people out of their seats...And he can score some amazing goals...
