Can expect Engvall to get one as well when his season ends. He had the lone goal as his team lost game 1 of the 1st round of the SHL playoffs.

He also led all forwards in ice-time with 19:35. He is a good prospect, and his skating such a thing of beauty.

His offensive output (0.65 ppg) was legitimately good for a 21 year old in the SHL.
He was 9th in U24 PPG. Having missed over a 1/3 of the season with injury, it gives a better picture of his production the the traditional leaderboard by points.

The Swedes we have drafted since 2013...

Johnsson (7th round, 2013)
Nylander (8th overall, 2014)
Engvall (7th round, 2014)
Lindgren (4th round, 2015)
Timashov (5th round, 2015)
Grundstrom (2nd round, 2016)

We have gotten great value drafting out of Sweden. You can toss Loov in the mix as well, I would say he exceeded expectations for a 7th round pick too.

He's been getting a crap ton of ice time in the FEL from what I've read. I hope he gets to play quite a bit down the stretch. I think he could develop into something.

Suddenly, the Marlies have good RHD depth with Liljegren and Holl.

And LoVerde and Rosen. It could be tough, but Rosen could just bump over to the left side to give Lindgren some time. The Marlies were running with 8 defensemen most of the year (pretty much up until Valiev was dealt) and they had no troubles giving everyone a decent amount of ice time. Shouldn't be too hard to give him some time as well, but I guess that goes to show that it is not that hard to get someone on an ATO even if they do belong to another team.

Borgman-Liljegren
Marincin-Lindgren
Rosen-Holl
Nielsen-LoVerde

HockeyDB has Grundstrom not on the active roster for Frolunda, does anyone know why that might be?

Injured?

I haven't heard of any injury regarding him and he played and scored in the last game of the SHL regular season. Game 1 for Frolunda is on the 19th.

Edit: HV71 was eliminated today. So we should get a good look at Engvall pretty soon as well.

From the small sample I've seen, Lindgren is an excellent skater. Once he fills out, he seems like he might be Connor Carrick-ish.

Liljegren - Borgman, a pair for the 2nd straight game. They looked great together on Monday.

Surprised to see Plouffe getting into a game. Good luck to him.

7th highest scorer in the AHA this year with 17 goals and 18 asssists in 35 games and a top 20 Hobey Baker nominee. Not bad for a kid who suffered a skull fracture a little over a year ago. Hope he manages to earn a spot, the system certainly needs more solid centre prospects than what we've currently got, and should get some TOI while Aaltonen is still out.

The Marlies also signed a sniper from Huntsville Ala's NCAA team named Josh Kestner who picked up 24 goals in 37 games. Hopefully he'll make an impact as well with Johnsson now up on the Leafs.

Convincing Marlie’s win. Sparks with the shutout, most of the offence in the 4-0 win from the vets.

Signing Lindgren to an ATO migbt mean his injury wasnt serious or that its healed

Did they sign him to an ATO for the rest of this season or are you referring to last year?

I haven't seen anything regarding this year yet. Has his team been eliminated from the FEL playoffs? I've noticed that he has gotten a TON of ice time this year.

Engvall's season has ended. Would love to see him get a Marlies ATO asap and bring some more speed into that lineup.

He had another good season. He missed more then the last month of the season with an injury. However he signed an ATO so he might be okay now. He played mostly on the top pairing and the 2nd pairing. Didnt have a lot of point production but that had more to do with the team and the system the coach put in.

The guy is turning 25 this year. It's nice to put up 24 goals in the NCAA, but a handful of guys do this every year as super-aged seniors. They usually put up far more assists as well, even if the team sucks. The chances this guy becomes anything more than an ECHLer are slim, never mind more than an AHLer, so I'd probably give a shot to Dzierkals, Piccinich, Pospisil or even Engvall/Vesey on ATO's before giving him a shot (at least to replace Johnsson). For now the best he gets is maybe a chance over Dupuy to spot guys like Clune on the 4th line, because we probably won't call up someone better from Orlando to do that for only a few games.

At least Plouffe could be a worthy replacement for some of the centers we likely lose in the ECHL next year, and has some upside. Plus I'd rather put him in at center than Dupuy this year, even if it won't be that often.

It also looks like Kahun may be going to Chicago, which would suck since he was one of the guys I wouldn't have minded the Leafs targeting to help out their center depth a little bit for next year.

Although it is not concrete or certain as of yet, so the Leafs may still have a shot at him.
