Has anyone speed bagged this moron yet, most overinflated sense of self-importance i've ever seen and total punk that clearly hasn't gotten taught his lesson yet. Stomping on legs, slashing people in the boot of their skates, running peoples heads into the dasher from behind etc.. etc. Anyone put this idiot in his place yet, or is Byfuglien the only one who's knocked him down a peg in any capacity thus far in that PHI-CHI final.

He hides behind referees, it will never happen. He would have been turned into dead meat a long time ago if hockey was still played like it was in the 70s and 80s.

He wasnt as bad in his Blues days. Took on Berube and did decent lol. Prongers gloves got cemented on when he went to the Oilers. Shame.

I thought that happened in the last year, or two he was in St. Louis.

He's a terrible fighter. Potentially worse than Gill.

I hope Martin knocks him on his ass with a big hit this upcoming season.

I'd rather see Gillies whack him.

Handzus is far from intimidating and ontop of that Pronger picked his moment. I might go watch that on youtube now

  9. pronger suffers from lemieux syndrome. does a lot of staring and mouthing but will never drop the gloves. even in his "fights" its always a grab or sucker punch with the gloves on from behind

The difference is that afterwards Pronger might actually fight Martin, he'd run away from Gillies.

He's only fought once in Philadelphia, against Willie Mitchell and neither one landed any punches. If you were to confront him about why he doesn't fight, I have no doubt he would reply with, "I'm better serving my team on the ice playing than spending 5 minutes in the box with some 4th line goon." Like it or not, Pronger just won't waste his time and skills. Should he answer for some of the stuff he says? Yeah, I kind of wish he would. But he won't.

You're correct all around. He is too important to the team but I still want him to answer for hitting Tavares from behind.

He hasn't fought a lot of tough guys but DYG has his career record as 17-1-4.

I thought it was generally understood that Pronger's biggest weapons are not his fists but his elbows?

Pronger is a future HHOF defensive defenseman and right there with our Wotan and S. Niedermayer guys that good usually don't fight.

Even if you look at Chara he does fight more often, but instead of landing punches he brings up his wrestling skills laying his opponents on the ground.

So if Gillies is serious about teaching the Flyers are lesson his man is Shelley not Pronger. Anyway Gillies better be in the fighting shape of his life he will have to deal with BigMac...

If you play dirty you have to answer the bell no matter how good you are.Messier, Howe, Lindros did it, and everyone respected them for it.

This Pronger hate makes me laugh. I've watched Pronger play for a long time, and he's not a dirty player. He's big and uses his size to his advantage often, makes hard hits, clears the crease better than anyone, but he's made only 3-4 dirty things in his career. He's also not a fighter, that's not his role. He's a Hart and Norris Trophy winner, and still one of the bests defensemen in the league at 35+ years old. He's a genius on the ice and he's unique. Why do you want to "throw him a lesson"? Because you probably have not really seen him playing, you probably don't know him, or you're blinded by his reputation.

And Byfuglien has not "destroyed" Pronger. He did hit him, and Pronger fell, it was a good hit, but Pronger got back on his feet 1 second later. And overall in the final, Pronger did a way better job than Byfuglien.

But if it makes you happy to see a good player being hit and injured, there you go :

Do you feel better now? Meh.

Id love to see someone teach Pronger a lesson too but the fact is that Prong isnt a good fighter, he knows he isnt a good fighter, so he isnt going to drop gloves with anyone who is a decent fighter.
Pronger will pick his spot, take cheap shots and play mind games with the other team. Thats what he does and you cant deny that he isnt very effective.
As much as I cant stand Pronger and think that he's a dirty player, I cant deny that he is one of the best agitators in the game.

Uh he's been suspended at least 5 times and should have a had few more. Nice try.

I will say I'd take him on my team anyday.

He has been suspended 8 times, in a league that generally looks the other way when star players are the ones laying dirty hits. Pronger is most definately a dirty player, had you actually been watching him a long time as you claim you would've known this.
