Promising Prospects as Free Agents in BAGM?

Ive noticed in my Be A GM mode that there are a fewl highly touted prospects as free agents such as Teuvo Teravainen, Joel Armia, and Brian Dumoulin (I created him), and a few more. Yet even when I put them on NHL rosters and put them on lines, when I start a new BAGM, they are still free agents? In NHL 12 you could just put them on a team and BOOM, you're done. Can anybody help me?
