1 Marc-Andre Fleury (Jose Theodore)
2 Eric Staal (Ron Francis)
3 Nathan Horton (Todd Bertuzzi)

Didn't want to compare Horton to an NHL outcast, but if Horton can get passed injury woes, he might end up like Bert or maybe a poor man's Bert.

4 Nikolai Zherdev (Alexei Kovalev)
5 Thomas Vanek (A healthy Martin Straka)
6 Milan Michalek (Martin Rucinsky)

I like the Rucinsky comparison!

7 Ryan Suter (Wade Redden)
8 Braydon Coburn (Darius Kasparaitis)

Don't think Coburn is nearly the kind of body-checker / open ice hitter that Kaspar is. Doesn't really play the same kamikaze style. Furthermore, I think Coburn has more offensive upside.

9 Dion Phaneuf (Chris Pronger in 2000)

I find that pretty ambitious to say the least ;)

10 Andrei Kostitsyn (Alexei Yashin)

Yashin is pretty much impossible to knock of the puck because of his strength/size. I think Kostitsyn is more flashy, but much easier to knock of the puck.

11 Jeff Carter (Jeff O'Neill)
12 Hugh Jessiman (Brad Isbister)
13 Dustin Brown (Kyle Calder)

I like the Calder comparison!

14 Brent Seabrooke (Chris Phillips)
15 Robert Nilsson (Jonas Hoglund)
16 Steve Bernier (Eric Daze)
17 Zach Parise (Mike Comrie)
18 Eric Fehr (Mark Parrish)
19 Ryan Getzlaf (Jeff O'Neill)
20 Brent Burns (Darryl Sydor)
21 Mark Stuart (Chris Chelios)
22 Marc-Antoine Pouliot (Mike Ribeiro)
23 Ryan Kesler (Trevor Linden)
24 Mike Richards (Mike Peca)
25 Anthony Stewart (2003 John Leclair)
26 Brian Boyle (Chris McAllister)

McAllister is quite brutal, but not out of the question.

27 Jeff Tambellini (Martin St. Louis)
28 Corey Perry (Andrew Brunette)
29 Patrick Eaves (Chris Gratton)
30 Shawn Belle (Brent Sopel)

With regards to Brown: he plays bullsih in the offensive zone just like Thornton and both of them can light the lamp now and then.

With regards to Richards: he's a good playmaker, just like Hrdina and both display a good two-way game. Neither is a big time goalscorer.

yet brown has more of a offensive game then thornton has ever have and the kid is 20 if that

As I recall, Thornton put up way more points for the Sharks last season than Brown did in his rookie year, but yeah, perhaps Brown has more offensive upside. Carolina's Cole has been mentioned.

Corey Perry: Jason Allison, style wise. They both aren't great skaters and both use their long reach to pull the puck around defenders.

Might be better than Brunette indeed

I think he's just as physical as McClaren, actually. His physical game is overlooked, and some people make the error of calling him an offensive d-man simply because his skating\passing is so good. I realize that Suter\Blake are likely "upside" predictions, but I think Jovo is far from a hall of fame d-man, and Suter can\should be just as good.

So far Suter has not shown to be as physical as Mclaren IMHO, when healthy Mclaren is one of the most punishing D's in the league.

Wrong! He plays the game just like his uncle did. Nasty. Will do anything short of killing a man(and he may come close) to win. Other than his cheapshot on Koivu, Mclaren is not nearly as nasty.

Suter is nasty, McLaren is tough. Those are two different things.

Well talk about that with Zednik

McLaren play tough, but he also plays nasty at times.

As far as Suter goes he hasn't shown nothing in the dirtyness department that comes near to his uncle. He plays tought, with the occasional extra elbow or stick... but nothing like Gary did on Karyia

Yeah that was Zednik not Koivu. :banghead: I knew that wasn't right when I typed it.

I thought most were very good, but Vanek seems to be a sniper, and while Tonelli was a very good player and a big time winner, I wouldn't classify him as a sniper.

While I'd be more than happy with a healthy Allison's production, I don't think their styles are very similar. Speed is a big part of Carter's game, while speed was about the only thing Allison lacked.

These projections of Boyle being a MacAllister or a Stojanov are terrible. Just because he is big doesn't mean he is a fighter, and he already has more skill than both of these guys. Hell, I expect the next comparison for Boyle to be Wayne Van Dorp the way things are going.

I say he's somewhat similar to Landon Wilson

I really like the Phaneuf to Manson comparison.

Well Fehr is already more polished in the defensive zone than Riicher ever was when playing in Mtl... but for the NJ years I'll hand it to you. And I really hope that Phaneuf has a better career than Manson... who at the beginning was really talented (and aggressive) but after his throath accident never was the same player

wow...I hope your wrong...otherwise Anaheim is in trouble.

Getzlaf a better more consistent version of Gratton and Perry more like a Jason Allison and the Ducks will be fine.
