I wonder if Yzerman would consider vulturing some assets off Tampa Bay. Brayden Point or some other piece to make room for Point.

I'm sure it's crossed his mind a few times. The cost to acquire Point would be astronomical + sign him for $9-10M+ ?? You're probably looking at: Veleno +2 1sts + Cholowski + ? If it was just 2 1sts & Cholowski, I'd pull that trigger, but TB wouldn't.

I think if anybody gets waived it'll be: Ericsson/Daley/Abdelkader (even though he's an Alternate Capt.), though it's not likely any of them will be waived. Hoping all: Cholo/Kaski/Seider/Ras/Veleno/Zadina/Svech either make the team to start or all up by the TDL at the latest. I think Hirose is pretty much a lock for the 2RW spot.

By TDL, I'm hoping for:

Bert-Larkin-Mantha
AA-Nielsen-Hirose
Veleno-Flip-Zadina
Svech-Ras-Erne
Helm
Ehn

DDK-Hronek
Nemeth-Seider
Cholo-Kaski
Bowey

Bernier
Larsson

Trade: Green, Howard, JDLR & LGD (he may fetch a decent return)
Trade/waive/dump: Ericsson, Daley, Abby
Hicketts can go back to GR.

Bertuzzi-Larkin-Mantha
Athansiou-Filppula-Erne/Svechnikov
Hirose-Nielsen-Erne/Svechnikov
Abdelkader-Glendening-Helm
DeLa Rose, Ehn

DeKeyser-Hronek
Nement-Green
Ericsson-Bowey
Daley

Howard
Bernier

GRG:
MacLeod-Veleno-Kuffner
Puempel-Rasmussen-Terry
Elson-Person-Zadina
Smith-Turgeon-Ford
Shine, Loggins, Lukosevius
Pope, Spezia, Kestner(Toledo)

Cholowski-McIlrath
Lashoff-Seider
Hicketts-Lindström
Saarijärvi
Crawford, McCrea, D'Astous(Toledo)

Pickard
Larsson

This makes a lot of sense to me, although I can see Rasmussen or Zadina also competing for the spot Svechnikov is in.

Where's Kaski though?

Helene predicts the roster

She thinks GR will be loaded up with Zadina, Veleno, Ras & Svech all headed there

Really? Ehn on the 3rd line? We're in for a long season then lol. You'd think one of our forward prospects would get that spot.

to me wraths more valuable to have around than ericsson plus has a chance at being part of the future . ide rather have wrath doing police work during a meaningless season than ericcson making us a little more competetive than wrath . this season the police works more important than maybe 3 more wins as i dont want rats hunting the kids without fear of inducing somebodys wrath . having the wrath around is real good for team spirit imo . and actually i wouldnt doubt wrath being around as cop instead of ericsson as decent defending dman wouldnt lead to a better record .

i could also fathom helm being moved for peanuts to make more minutes for a guy like ehn to see if he can bring it . also gives turgeon a shot , and maybe a puempel and others . mean while helms no future on this team and could help a contender or kenny in edmonton as a mentor type guy

Yeah, the one player who scores less than Abby, Helm, and LGD. Ehn should get sent down to GR to see if he can find some scoring touch since he's still waiver exempt.

I wouldn't mind seeing Veleno in that spot, he seems the most ready, or Kuffner. Out of the vets, maybe LGD. That would be a tough line to play against with Erne and LGD.

That's how I see it happening as well. I'd like Veleno and Ras up, but I get the reasoning to having them in GR. Mo should be able to crack that roster in a month or two.

Jets fan here..but drafted Hronek in my dynasty pool.

Just curious - who is going to QB PP1 this year - Hronek or Green?

AA-Flip-Hirose... awful. Too soft. Switch Erne and Hirose.
Frankly, I'm not sure Hirose is earning his spot yet either.

The trading for Erne has absolutely put another roadblock in front Zadina/Svech and maybe Rasmussen.
I've liked what I've seen from Erne, but at 23, the time is expiring on Svechnikov. I hope the organization hasn't written him off or backseated him. Because if he doesn't crack the lineup this year, it's not going to get easier when Zadina is ready.
