=====================================================

Here's an idea of what we could have in terms of production. I have averaged their production over the last 3 seasons (and for younger players in their short NHL careers). So, that's the number of points produced by 82 games in ()

Michalek (53) - Spezza (81) - Ryan (64)
MacArthur (53) - Turris (41) - Zibanejad (34)
Greening (37) - Pageau (36) - Conacher (51)
Condra (25) - Smith (22) - Neil (23)
Kassian (6)

Methot (16) - Karlsson (65)
Cowen (17) - Wiercioch (34)
Phillips (16) - Gryba (15)
Borowiecki (N/A)

Notes :

* Turris production reflects some his time in Phoenix, he has a better ratio in Ottawa (49)
** Methot's production could be a lot better than his numbers in Columbus, playing a full year with Karlsson
*** Most young guys have a lot of place to grow, particularly Zibanejad, Turris, Cowen, Wiercioch and Pageau

I prefer this:

Ryan - Spezza - Michalek
MacArthur - Turris - FA/Stone
Conacher - Ziba - Condra
Greening - Smith - Neil

Kassian/O'Brien/Hoff/Da Costa

This gives us a more legit 3rd line with a little more size. I'm not ready to move Ziba to wing yet. Without the Alf debacle we would have already had a proper RW on the 2nd line: either Alf himself or maybe an FA that we missed out on while waiting for his majesty to make up his mind.

In my scheme, Pageau will be given more time in the AHL, but will be the first call-up.

Big =/= Tough

Huge Assman is big, but Murray was looking for an enforcer.

but a least hugh can play a bit of hockey rather have him as an extra then kassain. Hugh was one of our better ahl players when kassain would find in hard to even crack the ahl line up .hugh is also an enforcer to a lesser extent .

Absolutely no way Pageau starts the season in the A unless he craps the bed in training camp or starts the season in IR.

I like that third line -- defensively responsible and a potential scoring threat.

MacArthur - Spezza - Ryan
Michalek - Turris - Zibanejad
Conacher - Pageau - Condra
Greening - Smith - Neil
Hoffman, Kassian

I want Spezza to feed Ryan as much as possible. I think by removing Michalek from the top line and placing him with Turris, our scoring should be much more spread out and more effective. I could see 35-40G out of Ryan with Spezza feeding him. Ducks fans have been saying that Ryan likes to have the puck, and with two pass-first guys with good vision he should touch the puck plenty. MacArthur is a nice complimentary player who could fit in nicely on the left side of Spezza.

With Alfie gone Turris needs a target to look to on the wings. I think placing two big speedy wingers with excellent shots on each side of him is going to be productive for him. Turris plays the best when he's skating at full speed, I always thought Alfredsson slowing down the play was preventing Turris from using his speed, and not allowing him to be as productive as he can be. Michalek and Zibanejad are the same way - they play best when they are skating full speed. I could see this line developing great chemistry.

Conacher-Pageau-Condra is a small line, but they all play bigger than their size, and have a lot of speed. I think Pageau is absolutely an NHL player, he's far too smart not to succeed. I expect he'll not only make the team, but be the best player in the bottom 6. Conacher and Hoffman can switch in an out of the lineup for each other.

Greening - Pageau - Condra

This line was money in the post season and I expect this will be either the 3rd or 4th line to start the year.

I love Pageau as much as anyone. He for sure deserves to be in the NHL. But 2 things are against him:
-Zibanejad has not played any RW in the NHL so far, yet all of you have him playing that position. He's played a bit of LW, but he's much better at centre and that's where he should play.
-There are 14 other forwards who have 1-way contracts/are waiver eligible.

With that in mind,

Conacher - Spezza - Ryan
MacArthur - Turris - Michalek
Greening - Zibanejad - Condra
Hoffman - Smith - Neil
Kassian - O'Brien

Cowen - Karlsson
Methot - Gryba
Phillips - Wiercioch
Borowiecki

Anderson
Lehner

Pageau is the first call-up. Then Stone. Then Prince.
Ceci/Sdao on defense.

Prince - Pageau - Stone
Puempel - Da Costa - Petersson
Dziurzynski - Grant - Schneider
Robinson - Cannone - Cowick
Kramer - Culek

Sdao - Ceci
Eckford - Wideman
Claesson - Rutkowski

Pageau has no right to play in the NHL next season...

We've got more than enough bods up here without having to get rid for a guy who "got hot at the right time"

Couldn't disagree more. You don't send someone down because they were "probably only a fluke." It should be his spot to lose and not the other way around.

Pageau is playing in the NHL next season, he was our best forward in the playoffs last season. I don't see him not making the club.
