My only worry about PB&J is who will actually bury the puck?

Why eventually it might be better to switch Palms and Bratt.

That third line I am not worried about at all. I think we could see some good secondary scoring from Wood-Zajac-JQ

I wish we could still stick with the Coleman-Zajac-Noesen(is that how it was?) line from last year. They were VERY effective.

You know everything M3S !!! and I mean that in a good way !!!!!

You haven’t lived until you’ve had to explain to an elementary school teacher that your 9 year old watched Holy Grail with his high school aged older brother and that’s why he says some of the things he does in class.

I finally got to watch the game, and some general thoughts:

- Bratt was our best player again. Guy dominated shifts and put Bern on the defensive every time he touched the puck. MoJo wasn't far behind him, and Zacha had a strong game as well. By far our best line again. Hopefully they can start putting up more goals, because they look amazing together.

- I was really impressed by Bern, that entire team skates well and is very good defensively. Their goalie also played very well. We pretty much dominated puck possession, but they collapsed around their net and their zone defense was pretty good, and they skate well enough to keep us honest.

- Kilometers Wood looked like his puck skills have taken a big jump this year. I think he's in for a big year.

- Severson was a mess defensively again. Doesn't seem to matter whether it's an NHL team, mostly AHL team, or NLA team, he is completely inept defensively. Santini wasn't any better really.

So, that game was somewhat concerning as a Devils fan.

Lets just chock it up to preseason rust and move on......

Only excuses they have are

1. Larger ice surface
2. Bern is in reg season mode

Hopefully a switch is flipped on Saturday because I did not like what I watched this preseason

The only game I missed was at Wpg

Do we have to play 3 forwards in OT?
Our D looks very slow in OT, Vats got an assist but that first shift was frightening

Is he one of the better goalies in the league over there?

I'm assuming he is, since they're the best team over there, but that's not always indicative of a team with the best goalie, as the Sharks are a good team with a painfully average goalie in Martin Jones. Fleury during much of the early part of his Pens career, Osgood, etc. But I'm assuming he's one of the better ones over there.

Bern isn't necessarily the best team in Switzerland...they're nr.1 in terms of stadium and audience but the league is fairly even. Last season they won the regular season but lost in the semis. Looking at the rosters right now I'd rank it 3rd behind ZSC and Lugano.

In terms of Goalies Genoni currently is the clear nr.2 behind Columbus Topprospect Elvis Merzlikins who could play NHL since years but probably doesn't want to go there because of Bob. He's also a rather special and sensitive guy with a difficult background and that's probably another reason why he's still in Lugano. Besides Merzlikins, nobody comes close to Genoni. Maybe Flüeler when healthy (like last season) but Genoni has been more consistent over the years.

I had to listen to the WPG game on the NHL stream with the WPG crew calling it but it sounded like NJ played quite well on the road against a team they ordinarily do not match up well against. You can say it was only preseason and doesn’t mean much but then that also applies to the games you think NJ played uninspired hockey. The regular season will be here soon enough and even then it’s a marathon not a sprint. As dissapointed as you are the team was 2-2-2 in preseason and if Nico’s shot goes in they win the second NYR game.
