The government has urged the Premier League to consider making more matches available to be shown live while fans are not allowed in stadiums.
Under current plans, 160 of the total 380 top-flight games next season will not be televised, angering some supporters who cannot attend.
All 92 top-flight matches after last season resumed in June following a three-month suspension were shown live.
But there are no plans for that to continue into 2020-21.
Instead, the Premier League has made 220 matches - 20 more than originally planned - available for live TV.
A spokesman for the Department for Digital, Culture, Media and Sport said: "Our focus is on working with the football authorities, safety and medical experts to get fans back in stadia as quickly as possible.
"It is for the Premier League and its broadcast partners to come to an agreement on screening matches, however we urge them to follow the spirit of Project Restart and listen to clubs' loyal fans and consider what can be achieved in the meantime."

Government calls for more TV matches

Hopefully they will come to an agreement. Makes no sense to blackout UK when fans are not allowed to attend.

Otherwise, ahoy pirate services.

Football Supporters’ Association expressed their concern about the move and said it had already heard from fans who were concerned about the cost.
A statement from the FSA read: “Today’s announcement shows that fan power works. At the start of this season the Premier League and its broadcasters had planned to leave match-going fans entirely locked out of their side’s matches; now thanks to the sustained pressure of our #LetUsWatch campaign all games will be available for fans.
“Many Premier League clubs have already taken money from fans, particularly season ticket holders, for matches they can’t attend so we urge them to get refunds out to those supporters as soon as possible.
“We’ve also already heard from many supporters and FSA members who are concerned about the £15 per game being charged and we’d urge BT Sport and Sky Sports to reconsider their pricing for these games.”

PL games to be shown on PPV for £14.95 each have been revealed

Good news for British soccer fans - all games will be broadcasted. Bad news - won't come cheap. Looking forward to see how this model will work when piracy alternatives are a few clicks away.

Relegation teams are going to be all over the free airwaves!

Meanwhile, the clubs people actually care about are the teams everyone must pay extra for to see.

Imagine making the good loyals to Chelsea and City pay for their vice while the vile glory hunters of Sheffield and Burnley get their vice for free. Sad.

Don't get me wrong, the teams on the top should start paying their fair share since they are the reason for all of English football being so popular, but for the fans, it's not as fun since it means they're being paywalled off the content they want to see.

And it's going to set a precedent that, yeah; if you wanna watch United and Arsenal play, you should fork over your hard-earned quid. Otherwise, hope you enjoy Leeds and Wolves, knave! (And even Leeds and Wolves fans would be blocked from watching their clubs play the big boys)
