The Preds only win a few weeks ago seems like a one-hit-wonder. Last night the Preds lost another home game 6-1 and defensemen Jim Vandermeer to injury. Vandermeer will be sidelined for at least a week with a fractured cheekbone. Only highlight of the game was the usuall all-star performance of the Nashville Ice Girls.

"Losing Jimmy will hurt, we now have to juggle our d-pairings" GM Tony Kapfenberger said. The team recalled rookie right wing Steve Goertzen who now gets his first taste of NHL action about a year early as planned. "We wanted to have him on the farm this season, let him develop and have a player who is ready to contribute next season. Now he is somewhat thrown into the cold water."

The coaching staff made another decision right after the game that might shake-up the slumping team. Starting goalie Brent Johnson will sit on the bench and Mathieu Garon will get some starts. "Some players need to step it up. The coaching staff sent a signal with that move" captain Brad Lukowich when asked if he supports the decision of benching Johnson.
