Canada went 9/37 from the 3 point line, for 24.3% efficiency. That was the difference in the game. It's not like the Czechs were playing amazing defence: a lot of those shots were wide open looks.

Anyway, it would be nice, just once, to see Canada's best roster in a tournament. They were missing their two best players in this one (SGA and Murray) and with Dillon Brooks perhaps 3 of their best 5. The good news is that their best players are all 26 and under.

FIBA wants as many high-profile (NBA!) players in the Olympics as possible, and basically all but handed us a spot by scheduling this in Canada. This is a really bad result.

We'll never get all of our NBA players to play in qualifying. whether due to injures, NBA playoff commitments, contract concerns, etc. That's why it's so important to have a well-run national development program as your base.

How on earth did we let the 37 year old Czech player torch us for 31 points when he only scored 15 points total in the other three games during the tournament and only averaged 7 points a game in the last World Cup? I don't even know how this happens. We have eight NBA players. How do we let someone like him go off on us like that?

I went to high school with Karl Tilleman, probably the greatest shooter this country has ever produced. Sadly, given his melanin-challenged status, he wouldn't even get a sniff at today's national basketball team.

In any other year the NBA Finals would have been over for 2/3 weeks by now and with such a limited amount of CDN Okayers in the league, I dont think well see many in the finals.

Maybe this disappointment will push for all the guys to come out next time. Good news is its only 3 years away.

Aw, someone’s mad that the reason why Canada is a big presence in basketball is because of the sons of black immigrants.
