There are those in the NHL that are unpredictable and leave you at the edge of your seat wondering what they may do next. They make defenders lives miserable with their ability to change things up on the fly.

In contrast to that, who in the NHL has had the most success while being the easiest to read? The type of player that you know exactly what they'll do and there isn't a damned thing you can do about it?

In order to get some different names in; Ovechkin is off the table.

I feel Pavelski fits in this, he constantly positions himself in front of the net and is a master of deflections, at the same time he can show flashes of skill and score some pretty goals.

Wayne Simmonds.

He is going to score 25-30 goals a season... most of them are going to be within 10ft of your goal... he is going to get them by out-muscling, out-positioning and out-working your Dmen.

Everyone knows all his 'go to' moves, but it just does not matter. This is going to be the 6th season in a row he has done almost exactly the same this with very similar results...

he has paced for between 27 and 32 goals 5 seasons in a row, and will very likely be in that bracket again this year.

The only out of the blue things he will do all year is fire ~4-5 wristers top corner on rushes.

Stamkos. Everyone knows he's always looking to set up for that insane one timer, but he continues to get open and score like crazy with it.

I'd add Thornton too, in the context of that duo. Thornton and Pavelski run the same plays every game, but they keep working.

Thornton. For years. Everyone knows he's passing it. He passes on empty nets.
You can try to play him physical, but he's big enough to win most physical confrontations.
You can try to play in his lanes and he'll move guys around with his eyes and fakes, and laser it over to Burns or Pavelski.
You can try keeping the puck away from him but he's one of the top takeaway guys too.

Tarasenko with his wrister and Weber's slap shot definitely come to mind.
