Barring no trade ups;

1. Buffalo: Dahlin
2. Carolina: Svechnikov
3. Montreal: Kotkaniemi
4. Ottawa: Zadina
5. Arizona: Wahlstrom
6. Detroit: Bouchard
7. Vancouver: Dobson
8. Chicago: Hayton
9. NYR: Tkachuk
10. Edmonton: Ty Smith

Toughest to guess is Arizona. Rangers would be a lot tougher to guess if I didn’t have Tkachuk falling; I should say that I question Vancouver passing on Brady, but from what I’ve seen, Benning wants a D.

Nah, he just fell.

Which wouldn’t shock me. I think he’s easily a top 10 guy (top-5, even) but with two teams going C and the “drama” of him missing the combine, plus him being VERY small has me dropping him out of the top-10.

oh wow, I thought you were like me who totally forgot Boqvist existed and left him out of the first round. Hopefully Hughes falls to 17

As an Islanders fan I would love to see this happen, Hughes and Boqvist would give us 2 shots at high end offense from the back end

This is the most likely scenario if (and that’s a big if) the rumours are true and Montreal takes Kotkaniemi at 3. The only change I expect to see in that scenario would be Dobson switching places with Hughes.

The other thing that could happen if Montreal takes Kotka is one of the teams listed 8-10 picks a late riser (Kravtsov being the prime candidate), which would push Boqvist out of the top 10 altogether.

I could see the Rangers taking Kravtsov

If MTL takes Zadina, I will be very interested to see how far Kotkaniemi slips. I could see him going all the way to EDM or NYI.

Same as someones above. Wahlstrom/Hughes/Boqvist are a tough order to set though. I also see alot of Hughes to Detroit in this thread. If Dobson/Bouchard are available, dont bank on it. Detroit has made size a priority and they have a few small puck movers in the system already

Word on the Street is Oilers might take Ty Smith over Boqvist if that is the choice they are given

I can see Detroit and Chicago both having interest in a Center. With McKenzie's list coming out on Monday we should have a decent idea how much Kotkaniemi's stock has gone up in the past month and a half. I wouldn't be surprised if he is rated 6th or 7th
