Maybe Knight, definitely Hagg make it over someone more deserving. Lehtera too so long as he’s not found to be guilty in that drug investigation (internally or legally). Stolarz fills in for Neuvirth/Lyon. Everything else is what everyone would have expected.

Bold prediction: Lehtera AHL Bound

Not very bold, since Knight has played over Lehtera at 4C the entire pre-season.

The only real contest is Hagg v Folin. Folin is a RHD and MacDonald is a LHD, so that might be a smoother combo.
Hagg - Folin is unlikely, since who's gonna handle the puck.
Weal is more skilled offensively than Knight, but he is undersized, and doesn't PK, and he hasn't consistently translated his skills to the ice.
Knight will allow Laughton and Raffl to be more aggressive on the forecheck by CYA.

Been really busy and have only seen part of one preseason game. Is it genuinely realistic to predict Lindblom and Vorobyev to make it and Lehtera and Weise to sit? Don't get me wrong, I'd love it as much as anyone, but it sounds like a hfboard fantasy more than an actual prediction.

Lindblom would be in the top six if they didn't sign JVR, he not only played well with Patrick in his cameo last year, he came to camp stronger and more confident. He's going to be a top two way forward in the NHL for a long time.

Knight has played over Lehtera on the 4th line all preseason, and he's paired with Laughton on the PK.

When Lehtera has played, same with Weise, it has been in the top 9 as a placeholder for a veteran sitting out a game, not in the role he'd fill in the regular season. Despite the nonsense you read here, Hakstol played both as little as possible last year on a roster where the alternatives were Leier, Weal and Read. Read is gone, and Leier and Weal have hardly played this preseason.

Thats the D I expect too. I am still so scarred from that opening lineup last year. We all expected 2 of Morin, Sanheim, and Hagg. We held out hope for all 3. We only got 1. The worst one.

This is the Flyers lineup I would suspect to see opening night. If Coots can’t go then Hakstool probably puts Vorobyev or Weal at 1C, in which case Lethera remains as the 14th forward until Coots returns.
