Marc-Antoine Pouliot
Evgeni Malkin
Zach Parise
Jeff Carter
Brandon Bochenski

For further info, Brandon Bochenski is a prospect for the Senators. He played for Binghampton of the AHL in 04-05 and led rookies in scoring.

With talk about future changes to the game, a "max potential" is tough to estimate.

If Atlanta gets Crosby and he gets the chance to play with Heatley and Kovalchuk, his stats could be way up there. A lot depends on who he gets picked by.

Some of these projections are downright silly. Schremp and O'Sullivan limited to 50 or 60 points which is the same as O'Marra and Richards? Whatever.... :shakehead

I still feel Schremp is a tad overrated... Crosby 45 points rookie year... Schremp 40? I don't know... unless Schremp gets on terrific EDM PP.

Some people consider Schremp the 3rd most talented player out of last year's draft (behind Ovechkin and Malkin). If we're talking about MAX potential, and the strengths of Schremp's game (his offense) I decided to shoot for the stars. Will he ever hit 90 points? Probably not, but I think it's more likely he veers in that direction than 50 or 60 points. That's NOT what Edmonton had in mind when they drafted him.

Schremp is probably the 4th most gifted player offensivly behind Crosby,Malkin and Ovechkin. He has the talent and skills to hit the 100 point mark but I don't think he will.

I'm not going to indicate how much they will score in their "rookie season" since its silly as they can crack the NHL either as a 19 year old or a 25 year old. My predictions are for these players in the 2005/2006 season (assuming that the '05 class is somehow drafted).

Sidney Crosby - 55 points

Corey Perry - Won't make the NHL

Gilbert Brule - 20 points

Benoit Pouliot - Won't make the NHL

Marc-Antoine Pouliot - Won't make the NHL

Evgeni Malkin - 60 points

Zach Parise - 30 points

Jeff Carter - 55 points

Brandon Bochenski - Won't make the NHL

Robbie Schremp - Won't make the NHL

Dany Roussin - Won't make the NHL

Alexander Ovechkin - 50 points

Mike Richards - 25 points

Ryan O'Marra - Won't make the NHL

Patrick O'Sullivan - 15 points

Damn, many of you are counting on those rule changes, aren't you? The scoring leaders over the last 7 years had:

1997 = 122

1998 = 102

1999 = 127

2000 = 96

2001 = 121

2002 = 96

2003 = 106

We have not had a 150 point scorer in almost 10 years.

And Crosby will come to the NHL and be the next one to do so. Seriously I think he's got everything to do it. It just depends on how the game will be played when he enters the league.

Even if they open up the game, I doubt anyone - anyone will be able to hit 150 points.

Do you have anything else to do except patrol these forums and whine about posts which don't agree with your (overhyped) views about U.S prospects??

O'Sullivan I think will surprise some people. Lemaire uses a transition type play...Sully with Bouchard and Gaborik could do some damage on the PP.

I think part of the reason people are down on O'Sullivan is because he is Wild property. And the cause of concern is, in my opinion, PM Bouchard, who, thus far, has been a disappointment with career high 22 points. And it has little to do with his ability as to the perceived role of the Lemaire system is having on his offensive development.

Of course, PMB is still very young, but I think most people are concerned O'Sullivan will run into similar problems and that his offensive game will also be stagnated.

Personally I think it'll be a good situation for the pair of them, I think they will feed off one another very well.

Hemsky managed to hit 30 mostly from passing. Don't see any reason why Schremp couldn't hit 40.
