It's still early but the 2022 QB draft class looks decent so far. Pickett led a comeback and Howell threw 2 TD's to put Washington ahead.

Josh Johnson is out here still doing it

I'll take him in Minnesota right now as the backup. Mond* still is nowhere near ready and may never be and Sean Mannion should be getting ready for life as a QB coach and shouldn't be allowed in a uniform.

*speaking of Mond that's looking like a disaster of a 3rd round last year by Spielman. they had 4 picks Mond is one, Wyatt Davis and Chazz Surratt were in witness protection last year and will be lucky to even make the Practice Squad let alone the team. Patrick Jones is the only one showing any kind of potential with a strong camp. Mike Zimmer got ripped for how handled young players (and justifiably so most of the time) but maybe he knew what he was talking about with these guys.

Mond was a project flier, fine. Win some lose some. (Davis Mills was the very next pick)
Surratt was a converted QB seen as a reach at the time.
Davis was considered a late/first early 2nd round talent and steal. But it seems the guy just doesn't really care about football. Showed up overweight last year. And the new staff drafted another Guard in the 2nd this year and signed 3 in FA and has him on the scout team. Now you know why he fell. Reports now are saying some scouts told Spielman to avoid him and he just ignored them.

Not shocked at all that Mond is awful. He did have a great senior season, and sometimes that translates, but I saw a lot of badness over the years from him.

Made some nice throws and seemed to get better as the game went along but he's still wide eyed and either holds the ball too long or takes off if the first read isn't there. He's basically a rookie again. Zimmer and Co. did not do a thing for him last year and now he's in a brand new system.

I liked taking a flier on a QB last year (whether Mond should've been that guy is another story), but that guy was never gonna be "groomed" properly under Zimmer and co. either.

Never had any high hopes of him amounting to much in the first place, but thought, hey maybe if he can become a semi-competent backup at least, it's a win.

It’s generally a waste of time unless they are getting on the field with the 1’s. Mills isn’t an answer but he got on the field so he has a fighting chance.

Nathan Peterman and EJ Manuel were preseason superstars. Even when playing against starters and not second half mop up duty against guys who won’t make the league.

Nothing in the world means less than how a QB does in the preseason.

It’s also vanilla defences being run. But that is all that these QBs can do is perform well when getting their opportunity in live action.

Well with certain things it does. Take Mason Rudolph as a example. He showed in preseason that he struggles if he has to go to his 2nd read and beyond. He is also flawed mechanically throwing the ball. The same issues that have existed since he was drafted
