Its just one of many irrelevant arguments in defense of this bull shit heading into year 5... 5 off-seasons is more than enough to rid the garbage on your roster and have them replaced with young talent. And If they arent better than the trash we've been trotting out for the last 4 years at the bottom of our roster than the rebuild is f***ed anyway and we are delaying the inevitable. There is no excuses anymore that this team should be stuck in mediocreland icing the likes of Andrew MacDonald for the 5th straight season while having arguably the deepest pool of prospects in the league. None. Put up or shut up.

Actually 5 offseasons, unless you're gonna blow your cap by buying a lot of free agents, is just when most young kids arrive.
Outside of top 10 players, most prospects do 2 years in junior and at least one in the AHL, foreign players may do 2-3 seasons in the SHL and 1-2 in the AHL, college 2-3 then 1-2 in the AHL. 3-4 years from draft year is normal, many take 5 years.

2014: Sanheim (2017-18), NAK (2018-19?), Friedman (2018-19?), Lindblom (2017-18)
2015: Provorov (2016-17), TK (2016-17), Sandstrom, Vorobyev (2018-19), Kase, Federov, Myers
2016: Rubtsov, Hart, Allison, Twarynski, Hogberg, Laczynski
2017: Patrick (2017-18), Frost, Ratcliffe, Ustimenko, Sushko, Cates, Lycksell, Kalynuk

We already have five starters in the top 9/top 4 from the 2014 and 2015 drafts in 2018, that's pretty good hitting.

I, and I believe 95% of the fan base, would rather watch Myers/Sanheim/Morin/Friedman make a goal conceding mistake for 82 games of the year while improving, than watch Farmer or Manning or Folin playing top 4 minutes and being the worst players in the NHL.
