Hope we have some good lines. I assume Sanheim is back?

If the lines tonight are the ones they posted on Saturday (I think it was Saturday). That's damn near an NHL roster.

Also Boruk is reporting that MacDonald is just about 100%. Everybody can forget their Myers dreams. He's going to be on the AHL roster

Makes you wonder, when will he ever get a chance? Doesnt matter how well he plays so it will once again take an injury.

Let's see what happens, though Myers didn't play well enough to be a slam dunk, the talent is there but mentally he's still shaky.
Question is whether you want him playing 15 minutes a night in Philly against easy matchups or 20+ minutes in LHV to start the season in all situations.

If he gets sent down they clearly don't value on-ice play. It sucks that a young promising player's only chance to make the NHL team is if injuries occur.

Like, who can honestly watch Hagg or Folin and think they outperformed Myers? I understand giving a veteran who had decent years the benefit of the doubt if he is having a rough camp or is coming back from injuries. But, Hagg and Folin are not those things.

He played significantly better than Hagg and older Hagg (Folin).

But I can't wait to watch MacDonald do his patented Starfish move and give up the blueline like a hooker
Yeah, it's not even debatable.

Myers easily outplayed multiple guys who are locks on the roster.

Hakstol doesn't care about putting together the best possible team.

Uh, it will be Hextall's decision, last time I checked he was still GM.
As usual, he'll balance what he thinks helps the team in the short-run versus what helps Myer's long-term development.
And I doubt he'll confer with this board before making his decision.

I have a weird feeling we will be satisfied by the forward group, while being very disappointed by the defense group.

Can't seem to get it at the same time.

If Sanheim - Gudas become a solid 2nd pair, I don't think we'll lose that much sleep over who gets paired with MacDonald on the 3rd pair in October.
Even if Myers gets sent down, it'll probably be temporary, and he'll be up by early next year.

Hagg/MacDonald is a terrible pair. Folin/MacDonald is a terrible pair.

You need a good puck mover and somebody who doesn't give up the line to play with MacDonald. Your only guys that can do that functionally are Provy/Ghost/Sanheim

It's almost as if there are folk around here who feel a certain kinship to talentless meatbags punching above their class despite a lack of skill:sarcasm:

Its unfornuate for Myers. He looked like he played better than a few Locks Hagg and Folin come to mind and well mac has played bu we know what he is. Honestly looked like he played exactly how they asked. Conservative and responsible defensively. and Did it well. I dont understand how the more talented younger d-man have to be perfect and guys like Hagg who make the same mistakes but lack the upside dont have a leash. only thing I can think is they dont see hagg as much long term and the others they do and want to make sure the get them as developed the right way as possible. But to me Morin Myers and Sanhiem, need to get better by playing at the top level.

We have had 3 straight years of Hak stifling young players. I dont expect that to change now. I 100% expect Hagg in our top 6 and Myers back in LHV. This is what happened to Sanheim and Morin last year all over again. A beet farmer doesnt change his overalls.

Hakstol literally just hates scoring.

That's the only possible explanation for Hagg playing over Sanheim or Myers.

He hates it so much that he'll even take someone who is worse defensively, so long as he doesn't score.

Starting to believe this. Hakstol plays that stupid low to high system. So do the Sharks. Well the Sharks work great because they got a killer blue line that can handle those shots.

Hakstol wants to put a bunch of dumbasses that shoot into shins or can't shoot at all.

Hagg blows, AMac blows, Weal blows, Horse Tail Dale blows, Torgo blows, but all these ass hats will be regulars because veteran/heavy
