Commissioners
All times EST and subject to change

New Rules

We will start the game by voting the 2019 cup champions, playoffs will be based on standings as off the game start. No trades during this time as the TDL has passed.
Offseason will start and players can start trading prior to the draft.
We will draft 2 rounds and GM's will get 30 minutes to make each selection, or can submit a list.
After UFA signings are done we will do another 1-2 days of trading before voting for season standings, and playoffs. UFA signings CAN NOT BE TRADED.
Game will start at 11am on Friday March 9th. Voting will be done by Saturday at 11am, if there are not enough voters we will decide by coin flips.
GM's may select 1 team for now and I will open it up to a 2nd team on Thursday.
It is fine to rebuild a contender in this game, unless you made the ECF/WCF.​

Salary Cap
  • CAPFRIENDLY IS RECOMMENDED FOR ALL CAP INFO.
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2018-2019 season is $80M.
  • The salary cap minimum for the 2018-2019 season is $59M
  • The salary cap maximum for the 2019-20 season is $83M
  • Teams may exceed the cap maximum by 10% during the offseason.
  • Teams must comply with the salary cap during the season and by the end of the game.
  • Teams may have a roster of no more than 23 players by the end of the game.

Waivers/Buyouts
  • Post in this thread if you’d like to place a player on waivers.
  • Burying a player in the minors or Europe only eliminates a maximum of $$1.025 of their cap hit. Use the Buyout Calculator.
  • A player will be on waivers for 24 hours.
  • Waiver priority will be based on the NHL standings as of the 20/01/2019
  • If a team claims a player off of waivers, they then have the lowest waiver priority.
  • Teams are permitted to use a maximum of TWO ordinary buyouts.

Trades
  • All trades must be sent to @Retinalz and XXX or else they are not valid.
  • Trade submissions must include the teams involved, the first and last names of players involved, as well as, the year and original owner of draft picks changing hands, as applicable.
  • Trade submissions that do not contain all relevant information will not be valid.
  • Once a trade is agreed upon, send it in BEFORE POSTING, and then you can announce it in the thread.
  • ALL MOVES MUST BE SOMEWHAT REALISTIC. The commissioners hold the power to veto any moves we deem to be ridiculous.
  • NMC and NTC waives will need to be sent to all Commissioners for approval. Both GM's must also be included.

Free Agent Offers
  • All free agent offers(subject lines) must be submitted to agents in the following format: Player Name - # years, $#,###,###/year, Clause (i.e. Evander Kane - 7 years, $7,000,000/year, LNTC), or else they will not be valid.
    • This is to be fair to those who volunteer their time as agents. It is otherwise an incredibly tedious task to keep track of player offers and post them in the FA thread.
  • All RFAs will be tendered a contract unless specified by their GM.
  • Teams are only permitted to use their own original selections as compensation for offer sheets.

  • In Season UFA: Since this will be off season all pending UFAs who do not currently have an extension in place, at the start of the game, will go to UFA.
Awards Voting
  • The winner of the 2020 Stanley Cup will be the winner of the contenders.
  • We will do a separate "playoffs" for the rebuilders to determine the best rebuilder.
  • Awards will earn you bragging rights among your fellow GMs.
  • Criteria and names of awards are still under construction, but so far we have: best rebuild, best team on paper, most improved team, best signing, best draft, and best (most even) trade.

So far it looks like this game won't happen but I will leave it up in case we get more people. I will delay the start of the game until further notice, but anyone wanting a second team can request them now.

Well, it's been over a week. I think it might be best to just start a new game/thread.
