True but it should be official. The league has 31, soon to be 32 teams and they still use an awards system designed for a 6 team league.

I think this should be increased. Make it simulate a team. 4 forward lines, 3 dman pairs and 2 goalies.

NBA has All-NBA 3rd team.

And I assume it's for the same reason the NHL and NFL do a 2nd team.
