Canada were very much in control for two periods and about midway through the 3rd, Canada up a goal, the Russian TV announcer so much as praised Brent Sutter for sticking with his immaculate game plan. But even then, things looked shaky, because Canada has settled on parking the bus and chose a defense first strategy. My gut feeling at the moment was it was going to cost them as they didn’t generate much offence and looked strangely timid. What happened next is well-known. So what did technically happen to the gold medal contenders? I would appreciate cool headed analysis.
