    From my limited viewing:

Suzuki (the complete package just has to put it together in the pros)
Brook (if he works on his defensive game he'll be a top 10 d-man)
Caufield (pure goal scorer but the other two bring more)
Romanov (honestly, I'd like to rank him higher)
    Primeau (same as Romanov)
Poehling (I don't devalue Poehling, I just value the others more)
Struble (may turn out to be as good as Brook)
    Ylonen
    Fleury
    Harris
Teasdale (if he can improve his skating he'll turn out better than some players ahead of him now)
Hillis (simply because he seems to be injury-prone)
    Ikonen
    Leskinen
    Fairbrother
    McNiven
    Pitlick
    Norlinder
    Evans
    Olofsson

What happened to Suzuki? Did you trade him?

I like it. Drawing the line around #10 up here, I find it odd some people would say "those guys are not as good as our 2007-08 top 10"... don't you have to go back to the 80's to see a similar positional mix of talent, speed and in some cases size?

It's cliche as hell, but wait another two years (including perhaps an NHL lockout year) and we should have a wave of useful ELCs coming into the team. It'll be down to Price's knees and groin at that point, how long 'till they drop type thing / how large a progression has Primeau made to become a starter.

According to Elite Prospects, the Habs are the 6th ranked prospect pool.

No doubt it's up there... now let's hope for steady improvement and patience... and this organization might be back on track in a few years.

i don't know. Brook and Romanov at 6 and 7? McShane at 10? Harris at 14? The 'quick twitch' descriptor in the Struble paragraph? Don't like it!

Listened to Craig Button on TSN690 a couple of days ago and he seems to really like Jayden Struble. He called him a terrific young player with a lot of potential and compared him to the Romanov pick from last years draft for the Habs.

Button said he really likes the Habs prospect pool and said they have the best prospect pool of any Canadian team and maybe even in the entire NHL. He also had some really good things to say about Caufield as well.

Here's the audio from TSN690. He starts talking about the Habs prospects at about the 9:45 mark.

I think Craig is overrating our pool a bit I have no problem with his argument of best Canadian pool but best in the nhl is a stretch imo.

Its not. The team lacks a Kakko or Hughes but the top prospects are the deepest for sure. Dont forget the Habs picked 9 times in the 2nd in the past three years. Plus Romanov and Brook are basically first round talent in a redraft.

it can be difficult or at least time consuming to have a strong understanding of one teams entire prospect pool but 31 is really hard unless you are paid to watch these kids from all over the world. So any prospect pool ranking is going to be tough but I'd say the Habs easily have to have a top 5ish pool because it's the best pool I've ever seen. The problem is it's very heavy in depth but light on the high end prospects which then means some will rank it higher based off how deep it is and it's insanely deep, while others will ding them because they lack the high end guys and the ones we do have have some question marks on size/strength (Caufield/Suzuki) while others like Poehling, Primeau, Romanov, Ylonen, Harris, we just don't know how good they will be yet.

I wouldve counted both Norlinder and Hillis ad 2nd rounders but that makes 8 anyway.

Wait LAK is in the top 2???

    Wheres Colorado???

Yeah, sure you can like them, but theres no way way theyre over the Habs. They have very little actual top end. IMO their top prospect lose out against every hab top prospect.

York vs Brook is an easy Brook for me.
    Caufield vs Farabee is Caufield
    Frost vs Suzuki is Suzuki.
    Poehling vs Brink is Poehling
    Ylonen vs O'Brien is Ylonen
    Romanov vs Myers is Romanov

Their strength is depth, and the Habs just have better depth.
