I'm not ranking this by top 5 prospects, just decided to do it.

Good list, not trying to nitpick, but for the Blues I would drop McCrae and insert either Grachev or Rattie. Just a suggestion

Nilsson is not considered a Top 10 prospect.

And why not? Talk to Islander Fans on the Islander board much? They are ranking the Islander prospects right now.

1.Nino
2. Strome
3. Dehaan
4. Poulin

The Next couple are Petrov, Kabanov, Nilsson, Nelson, Dononvan & Mayfield in no specific order.

Rakell was just selected 30th overall, Gibson was the top ranked goaltender in this last draft, Brandon McMillan just put up 21 pts in 60NHL games on the 3rd line and Mat Clark was the youngest player in the AHL last season, after being named the top shutdown defender in the OHL the season before.

IDK if you were being serious, or if you were trying to take a shot at the Ducks prospect pool, by saying these players are nobodies. Either way, you basically proved why people have bumped the Ducks out of the top-10, lack of knowledge and exposure.

You're saying he's a Top 10 goalie prospect in the league?

That's what I meant, not Top 10 Isles prospect.

I think Detroit has a case for top 15.

They probably have the best depth of any system but I think their lack of high end talent (I think B Smith is the closest thing you have, but I don't think he's a true elite blue-chip) knocks them back a bit.

For the record, I really like Detroit's method of drafting. If you have stars now, discovering stars in the second round and drafting a lot of quality guys that are in the second round is a lot less risky than drafting up for a really special looking player early in the first.

Detroit
detroit has bene ranked in the top 10-15 each and every year for the past 2 or 3.

after easily sweeping the 2nd round last wknd they certainly didnt drop down any and more then likely moved up.

No team has more offensive depth prospects then detroit

Yea, I'd keep them around 11. Solid draft, but there's really no top-tier players.

Ducks are my 2nd favourite team, I was being semi-serious, they are overlooked, but those prospects although unknown are very good.

Wow, Wild go from 30th up to top 10-15 in two years. Our GM needs some love...

Diddo. This, in my opinion, is why it was so easy for Melnyk to keep the murrays around. Theyre going to be turning nhlers out of guys in all rounds. Development camp has been said to be the strongest personnel director has seen in 15 years....just finished 4th draft.

Looking at this top five prospect list, and knowing the depth after it I would put Ottawa ahead of Florida, but that could just be the homerism in me. Either way the future looks bright.

Markstrom vs. Lehner
Rundblad vs. Huberdeau
Cowen vs. Gudbranson
Zibanejad vs. Bjugstad
Silfverberg/Filatov vs. Howden

It's close for sure.

Not that close, Florida wins all of those matchups.

Would have included Gragnani for Buffalo. Looked great in the playoffs.
