Slovakia plays Czech Republic in an exhibition game this morning (10:30 am). The tournament starts 2 weeks today.

I don't expect Lyon to be the starter for USA. I think Charlie Lindgren gets an invite once Washington is eliminated.

With all of Tampa Bay, Washington & NYI on the brink of being swept, there will be a number of players made available. We'll see who actually goes.

There's potential for Jake Oettinger to be available for US too, as Dallas is down 0-2 in their series.

"David Reinbacher is out due to injury and will not be eligible for the World Cup either."

"Vinzenz Rohrer will play the decisive game with the ZSC Lions on Tuesday evening in the best of seven series against Lausanne for the Swiss championship title and is expected to report to the team camp on Friday."

I haven’t looked at a non-Canadian WHC roster in 10 years :sarcasm: so I have no idea how they stack, but it seems like a good group you can root for. Too bad about that old jerk Sid sitting it out again

Armia isn't playing for Finland this year. In fact, there aren't too many NHL players going for the Fins.

Oliver Kapanen has officially made the team.

2024 draft eligible Konsta Helenius is also on it.

Not bad, but it's extremely young outside of McCann.
They may be young in age, but all of them have been playing hockey at a high level for years: NHL, CHL, Team Canada, etc. These 'kids' have developed in the pressure cooker that is high level sport competition. It's the big ice, where skating is at a premium. Hockey Canada is finally learning and have assembled a largely mobile team. We may not win, but it doesn't appear that we will be caught slow.

And if you can skate, anything is possible.
