Pretty sure you can't start two in a row...

The reason for such a rule is that the same person wouldn't have an advantage of always getting the best guy. However, what kind of advantage am I getting when everyone else refuses to start the dang thread? It was 10:07pm when I started this thread, if someone else wanted to start the thread they had over an hour and a half. I am not waiting until 3 in the morning until someone starts the thread (yes, there was a game last week that the thread was not started until 3am). So if you are going to complain about me starting multiple threads in a row, by all means, please start it yourself because if it's an hour and a half after start time I am not waiting.

FWIW, the last game I did start it and it was 1 hour and 45 minutes after the start time. Please, start it yourself.

Actually this is my 3rd game in a row starting it. So what should've happened is that my pick from last game was voided. Since I didn't play last game that means I can start the thread tonight.

Ok, I'll take that - your pick of Eichel for the New York Rangers game is voided and you lose the points that you would have received due to Eichels performance.
So you are allowed to start Chicago game thread and you are allowed to pick first so your pick of Kane - CHI is not voided.

Edit - Also you would have lost the points anyway because you picked Eichel two games (Boston and New York) in a row.
(You can't pick the same person two games in a row.)

I would take the -1 but the issue here is why aren't you allowed to start 2 threads in a row? It's so this doesn't become a race of who starts the thread first and the same posters don't always get the best players. Again, that makes no sense when most people refuse to start the thread. I am not logging on to HF boards 100 times just to see whether or not someone started the thread. I made note of it one day in the standings thread because multiple people who play the points game posted on other threads but none of them started the points game thread. So I had to keep clicking on it and it was easily past the 24 hour start time. Common sense has to prevail here otherwise this is a pointless exercise of waiting for someone else to start the thread.

I'd say rules are rules

Common sense says when the rules don't make sense or they don't do what their supposed to do you change the rules.

Therefore - NEW RULE: As always a thread can be started as soon as 24 hours before gametime. However, if you started the last thread you can only start a thread 23 hours and 45 minutes before gametime. You may start as many threads in a row as possible if no one is starting a thread.

The 15 minute window is more than enough time for someone to get in before the last thread starter and take the best player available. In the case of my multiple threads, I started them about an hour and a half after the 24 hour window, not just 15 minutes. But still no one started the thread and I am not waiting all night for someone to do so. I am not waking up early to sign on to hfboards the next morning before I leave for work just because no one started the thread.

This will also solve the problem of people whining that they aren't winning because they didn't start as amny threads. They will have an advantage now to get a pick in before the last thread starter. If we have to amend this rule to make it the next 2 games after a thread was started then we can do that.
