If he keeps up at this pace 120 isn't out the question.

Will he hit a peak? Who knows . Fun to watch, tho

I am no math genius but I think you mean 101 points.

If he plays 80 or more games I don't see how he is below 100 points. 101 sounds about right.
Yes 101. Thanks. Auto correct on this phone. Lol

Obviously Matthews will regress from the inhuman, unsustainable clip he's currently producing at - it's just a matter of how much he drops off. Barring injury, even if he slides down to a PPG pace from this point forward, he'll still end up with a 90+ point season. Since he's inevitably going to go through some slumps (all players do), I'm going to err on the side of caution and predict 90 points even for Matthews by the end of the regular season.

Imo he slows down and finishes with around 90 points, which is still a spectacular season at his age. It's a loong season, very difficult for young guys to play at a 100+ point pace all season long.

I think he'll finish around 90-105 if he's healthy. Not having Nylander has actually helped him a bit because he used to defer to Nylander to skate with the puck through the neutral zone, this year he's a lot faster and does pretty much everything himself.

90+ is attainable if he just goes PPG from here. He continues this hot run for a few more games and suddenly 100 points is possible by going just PPG the rest of the way. I am sure he'll hit a slump or two over the course of the season.

It was be an incredible feat to put up 90 or more points. There are very few players in this league that have put those kind of numbers in their ELC.

There are some great players like Scheifele and MacKinnon who were nowhere near as good as Matthews at the same age.

The people who put over 120 lol. When was the last time that was even done? I think he will drop down to a bit over a ppg. 80-95 imo

Well , whens the last time anyone started this hot like Matthews? Im not a leaf fan and i think he easily breaks 100. That team can score at will and the puck always runs through Matthews.

Barring injury, he easily will get over 95 imo.

80 is way too low, he would need 64 points in his next 75 games to break that mark..which is childs play for him.

People still don't get it yet. Injury is the only thing that would stop him from 100. He could score below PPG the rest of the way and get 90 points... And that's not happening.

100 points is very tough to get, especially if he doesn't get Nylander back. I think 90 points would be a great season for him
