Wonder if Manning’s mistake will lead to a demotion/benching? No, let’s not be silly.

I think this game dictates the series now. Prove we can win consecutively and I really think we will win the series. The Pens haven’t won two cups through giving up though, they’re going to go twice as hard.

His one mistake when he also made several good defensive plays and took the most hated Pen of the night off the ice at a key point in the game? The only silly thing would be to bench him. Hagg will bring nothing extra to the table that you don’t already have in the lineup.

Look Brandon, it wasn’t your worst game but you still blew it on their only goal.

After sleeping for 2 and a half hours over last night's game (because that's clearly enough) I decided the Flyers are gonna win in 6 because the Penguins suck on the road.
And I'm sticking to that opinion until they disappoint me thoroughly in Game 3.

The big adjustment was to play like we did against Washington. Giving them the perimeter and collapsing in. It took away the horizontal plays the Pens love, but Sullivan will adjust. Elliott is not looking like Neuvirth in that series.

Boxcar should be happy, mandog got himself thrown out of the game for last 10 minutes yet he still logged 18 minutes. That must be a career highlight?

Great teammate, tries hard, not afraid to mix it up, etc. I will always say if he was used in a more limited role he would be fine and not get nearly as much hate. He will probably go somewhere and be a capable #6 next season.

Of course, Ron could always sign him to a new, two year deal............

The only hope the Flyers have is to play Hakstol's scheme correctly, fierce back check, don't get caught up with skating with the Penguins (we don't have that kind of speed and skill right now), control the pace, keep it boring, and Elliott has to continue to play like he did, not flashy but consistent and smart, holding the puck, forcing faceoffs, slowing down the game. And cut out the stupid penalties, I don't think the PK will hold up if they give the Penguins a half dozen PPs a game.

The reason the Flyers have a chance if they stay disciplined is because the Penguins are so talented they want to skate and make plays, a lot of their forwards hang near the blue line instead of back checking in their zone, and if you frustrate them they'll make mistakes. They want to tempt you into a track meet, figuring Murray will stop your shots and they'll eventually throw in a few pucks and bury you.

But you have to be conservative, notice the Flyers were dumping it out of the zone by floating the puck over to mid-ice so the Penguins couldn't intercept clearing passes but avoiding icing. A relatively boring strategy, but it stifled the ability of the Penguins to quickly reverse ice and attack the O-zone. And no blind slapshots by D-men from the blue line - miss the net and the Penguins are on a two on one the other direction. Dump it in and HIT SOMEBODY on the forecheck. Penguins don't really like playing a physical game outside of a couple players.

I think it's funny how you automatically assume if they lose it's the players' fault, and that coaching choices obviously can't be a factor.
