I think that when Bylsma said "grind those *****es down" he was actually referring to this message board.

He is doing a damn good job.

I can and will outlast him, my television viewing habits support how masochistic and stubborn I can be. If I do quit I'll eventually come back.

He's just trying to wear down his useful players now, they get worn out and all of a sudden his babies are looking better in comparison.

so my friend has no way of knowing how much time Despres is getting?

30 seconds and then his blood sugar crashed, they got the equipment out and got him off the ice. He "snacked," and then another 7 seconds at the end to act as a cautionary tale.

Try twitter or tumblr or something, there's usually someone doing something weirdly useful there.

I want to see this team win the Cup as much as anybody, but I think its also important to realize that its not always the best team that wins the Cup anyway. LA was mediocre all year before going on their run two years ago. As you've pointed out before, the 08 Finals team was more dominant than the 09 Cup team. **** happens come playoff time.

Yeah, it would be great to see this team play a disciplined defensive game every night but this turned out to be an exciting game where the captain and best player in the world willed his team to victory. Maybe not a recipe for success in the playoffs but there's still 77 games in the regular season.

Look, I respect your opinions and even agree with a lot of them. Same with most posters on this board. Its just the tone and broken-recordness of this board nowadays that makes it tough to read sometimes. I still come and read because I do respect the knowledge and insight of a lot of the posters, yourself included, but I have to imagine from the outside we come off as an incredibly whiny fan base.

FYI, I would like NOTHING more than to be wrong about Bylsma. I'd also like NOTHING more than to win the lottery. For me, as the latter has supplanted the former as being more likely, I readily admit that has contributed to my 'over the cliff' tone and do apologize in some measure if that detracts from your enjoyment.

End of the day, I see this as a playoff team no matter what. But, at some point it needs to be about more than regular season wins and scoring titles. To what end is what we see year after year, because it certainly doesn't seem to be with winning the cup in mind.

Oh, good catch there. IcedCapp trying to sneak something by like he's got a friend . . .

Capp made a special new friend at Hanlan's Point this summer... He told me his name but I can't recall right now... Moon Pie was it?

I have zero interest in this team win or lose so what. Bringing Bylsma back after the flyers fiasco was astounding to me. Then he finds a way to make Iginla a third line hacker last year. So he gets an extension and a ownership atta boy. They are the Atlanta Braves of Hockey. One world championship with all that talent. Crosby deserves better but Mario and Ron think Shero is the guy who built this team. He didn't and is spending money on wingers who have peaked. Bennett is a young winger who has a complete game, but Bylsma will hinder his development. If the Islanders get some decent goaltending, they knock this team out in five.

I pretty much said I did in my post you quoted, and it's not important to my point I was making. Malkin playing bad.

I thought your point was about benching Bennett.

BTW, has that even been answered yet?

Pluses:

Sid, obviously. Dominant game.

Scuderi. I really missed this guy and it's he's making it easy to remember why. Very smart player.

Minuses:

Chris Kunitz. he has looked like wet poop to start the season. Dupuis hasn't come lights-out either, but of the two, Kunitz is looking much more lethargic and clueless so far.

Orpik. I love the guy but he is definitely degrading with age. Aside from bad positioning on the Bolts' ffirst power play goal, There was a shift when he let the puck go between his legs right at Fleury and basically let the Lightning player he as covering reach around him to swipe at it. Just strange to watch.

Malkin...this is a LIGHT minus, because he did acquit himself well afterward, but that turnover early on that led to the Lightning rush the other way was completely bizarre. No clue what he was thinking - that's got to stop.

You play the man not the puck. If Orpik lowers his head, looks for the puck and ends up losing his man and the puck everyone would kill him for that also.... yes...he's not been real good mostly but the nitpicking is brutal

I tweeted Yohe. He, along with everyone in the Pens media, are still yammering about how they've never seen a ref help a guy off the ice.

Except ya know, I've seen it. And anyone who's watched hockey regularly has as well.

I can't get anything by you guys =(

You can see the summaries here: http://www.wbspenguins.com/schedule/game-schedule#feed=intkit&page=schedule

And the AHL has a website: http://theahl.com/

Neither one seems to track TOI though ... Quick search suggests that TOI is not an officially kept AHL stat

Yea, I went through all of that before asking. I'm bummed. Anyone watch WBS this year?

watching the games at Hanlan's Point was great when I had a Beauner... now it's just awkward. I have to blame the weather.

I have to blame Bylsma if your Beauner got Bylsmaed. I guess you'll have to start using Viagra instead.

I can't get a Beauner to save my life, but Dupuis can lead a team with Crosby and Malkin in ESTOI

Now that one really made me laugh.

What next? You'll insist that Rossi really does have sources.

So now Rossi isn't a source? Rude.

Bylsma needs a twitter, that **** would be epic. #GTOG #GTBD

His logic has got to be that Dupuis just needs tonnes of TOI to get going, and Dupuis needs to get going to get tblih going.

Did Shero have anything to do with the hiring of Byslma when Byslma was coaching WBS?

ES TOI tonight . . .

P. Dupuis RW 15:57
C. Kobasew RW 14:19
S. Crosby C 13:51
C. Kunitz LW 12:46
E. Malkin C 12:40

Any questions?

How the **** does a NHL coach give the two best players in the world the 3rd and 5th most ES ice time?

How does Db still have a ****ing job?

Watching Bylsma coach the Pens literally is like watching what happens when you give a 16 year old the keys to a Porsche. Takes off flying, some ups and downs on the ride, pretty entertaining to watch, and then he drives the car off the cliff and you realize your on the hook for the damages.

Because we have a general manager more concerned with the family and entertainment than winning another cup.
